Social class: their social and economic standing and their attitude to it.
Upper middle-class. No opinion, she's content. She's not very 'popular' in school, but again, she's content.
Physical Appearance
Describe, in detailed paragraphs, exactly what your character looks like.
Her FC is Annie J. Clark; pale skin, but she doesn't burn constantly, and usually once she has a base tan, she keeps it. Curly, dark brown hair that's pretty thick. She doesn't have the time or effort to do anything with it. Her eyes are super, super blue. She usually has a neutral expression on her face, but usually is very expressive due to the fact she doesn't speak, and usually needs to get her point across with her face. Also, legs for days. She's very tall, and is in insanely good shape for it, too.
Current height and weight, and basic build.
She's around 5'10'', weighing about 167, but has been known to be in the lower 170s. She's pretty fit and healthy, and takes care of herself. She has a square shaped body, as well.
Posture and stance.
Josie sits up tall and never slouches, since she's been playing piano for years, so she has great piano posture. She normally stands up straight as well. She tries not to slouch very often, but occasionally, when she's tired or upset, she will.
Gait.
Josie has long strides, so she walks faster compared to some of her other classmates.
Hair colour and style.
Dark brown hair; she's never colored her hair before. Her hair is naturally wavy, and she's pretty lazy, so she just leaves it as is. If it's not a shower day, she'll just use dry shampoo or put it up in a ponytail. Shower days, she puts curl taming gel in, making her waves way more defined.
Eye colour and shape.
She has deep set eyes, and they're very. very blue.
Make up.
She usually forgos makeup, only wearing mascara if she wants to draw more attention to her eyes.
Clothing style.
She usually wears jeans or leggings. She tries to look put together, but sometimes she prefers to be comfy and casual as opposed to dressed up.
Physical Abilities
She's very athletic and loves running. She's varsity for cross country and soccer.
Abilities and limitations.
She's not very flexible and has a weaker left leg due to the fact she fractured her ankle her sophomore year.
Strengths and weaknesses.
She's really good at soccer and piano, and can run for long distances. Most of her shortcomings are all social and mental; she's a bit embarrassedby that.
Favourite / worst activity.
She really only likes to run. Abs, lifting, and leg workouts really make her tired and she gets grouchy.
Career and Lifestyle
Occupation.
No job as of yet, high school student.
Dream career.
A composer. She wants to arrange classical and contemporary pieces and perform them for people.
Career motivation.
The fact in the future she will have a good job and good money if he works hard in school, probably.

He's been recognized for his ability to play piano since she was 8, as well as being a mathlete all four years in high school (she's super embarrassed about how nerdy that is).
Clubs/organisations/unions.
Part of cross country and soccer (quit track due to conflicts with soccer). Also is a member of the concert, orchestra, combo, and jazz band at her school (plays piano). Also was part of the school's Math Club and competed with them (never mention this).
Past time activities.
She usually writes and composes her own music in her free time, when she's not going for an intense run.
Psychology
Basic personality.
She's usually very nervous. Josie has anxiety around people and major trust issues. Usually, she gets nasty with people if she thinks they're trying to make fun of her. She's pretty sensitive and doesn't smile very often. She's insecure and afraid to even talk to her own peers.
Defining characteristics.
Her selective mutism. Everyone knows that Josie, due to her social anxiety and the fact she is hard-of-hearing, doesn't speak to anyone. Also, since Josie learned ASL very young, and is able to sign perfectly, she often times finds herself reacting in sign language. For example, if she's upset, she'll start using sign language, trying to tell them she's upset before realizing people aren't sure what she's doing.
Outlook on life.
Pessimist and introvert.
Mental vs emotional.
Josie would like to be more detached from her emotions, but the problem is, she's very emotional and expressive. She tends to react to everything based on her emotions and how she feels vs how she thinks she should react. Josie's very smart, and wants to use her head, but constantly gets caught up in her emotions.
Humour, or lack of.
She doesn't tell jokes, but if she finds something funny, she will laugh. Not much else to it.
Motivation.
Really, Josie gets up because of her dad. There are days she's really just over it all, but she just doesn't want to leave him alone.
Goals.
Josie's goals are to be happy and in a committed relationship. She wants to be performing her own original pieces and writing music, and really that's all.
Desires.
Acceptance, the ability to speak to her love ones, and stability.
Phobias.
Social situations (she choses not to talk because of this). She also fears being hurt and falling in love because of this. She also fears becoming just like her mother (which is kind of why she doesn't drink).
Secrets.
Most people think she's 100% deaf, can't hear a thing, and can't speak because of it. In reality, Josie is only deaf in her left ear, and wears a hearing aide in her right to be able to hear others perfectly. She has speaking abilities, but never uses them.
Superstitions.
N/A; she's not superstitious at all.
Mental Abilities
Abilities and limitations.
Emotionally, Josie can get swamped and have little ambition to do anything, but she's very, very smart. Her teachers accommodate her and she does what is expected, often going above and beyond.
Strengths and weaknesses.
She's smart, well-educated, and she is very accomplished in what she does. She does see her emotions as a weakness, and the fact she can't control them bothers her a lot.
Favourite / worst activity.
She hates math, but she's also very good at it, but she feels like a nerd for that. Also, she excels in music theory.
Educational experiences.
Very much so; her dad is a professor at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She grew up being well-read and excelled in school, even if the social aspect really got to her sometimes.
Personal History
Place of birth.
Actually outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was born in a hospital near a small town her mother's family's Christmas Party was at.
Childhood.
At the age of one, Josie's dad and mom began having problems. Her dad threw himself into his work and left her alone with her verbally abusive mom. Her mom, and any other men she brought over, would torment Josie. Josie was subjected to a lot of psychological terror, and her mom would insult her and call her a slut when some of her older lovers made snide comments about her appearance (she was four).
At the age of five, Josie developed meningitis (which had been going around her montessori). Josie's father was out of town and her mother left her to suffer for days, until one of her suitors found Josie unconscious in the kitchen and they rushed her to the hospital. She lost hearing in her left ear, and almost lost it in her right. The doctor found her bruises and burn marks from the cigarettes and reported her mom to DHS. Edward came back and divorced Mina immediately. They moved to Hell and Josie transferred schools.
When she was six, her father met up with his old high school sweetheart, Aimee Boulard (now Aimee Garcia), and they began to date. Josie disliked her, as she was a former pageant girl who wanted to make Josie into a pageant princess. When she was eight, Aimee and her two sons, Calypso and Gonzalo moved in with her and Edward. Calypso, in spite of always fighting with Josie, became the 'protective brother' to her.
Adolescence.
Josie was a straightlaced teenager. She was very well-behaved and prioritized school and extracurricular activities above things like parties. She met Miguel Trinidad, Calypso's best friend, who tried to make a move on her, and immediately she rejected him (50% due to fear, 50% due to his reputation). Josie was kind of always a bit nervous, especially since a lot of her friends were extroverts or really likes to party.
Hardships.
Josie's early childhood was rough, and to this day, she is still really affected by that. Along with that, she feels like she drives everybody away from her because she comes off as cold and callous.
Regrets.
She regrets being unable to fix her parents' relationship. She regrets rejecting Miguel, because now she thinks he hates her and that he sleeps with all these other girls to prove to her she was easily replaceable.
Direction.
She was kind of put on this path post-divorce, but she doesn't really mind it, honestly.
Trauma.
Her mother was psychologically abusive. After losing her hearing, she tried to return to her montessori school, and all the kids made fun of her because she couldn't hear anymore. She tried to carry on conversations, but her speech was poor and she couldn't hear very well, and the others would tease her. This made her think it would just be better not to talk at all; and so she did.
Family History
Parental figures.
Edward Poms - her father. Josie is a daddy's girl and loves her father a lot. She really doesn't want to disappoint him, and knows he really needs her around, because sometimes he just regrets what he did in the past regarding her mom, and how he blames himself for her deafness.
Mina Poms - her mother. Her mother is still a nuisance in her life. She tries to insert herself in her life, but then crushes her. Mina is still very manipulative and abusive, trying to make Josie feel guilty for everything. She also tells Josie she's a slut whenever she can.
Aimee Poms (Garcia) - her stepmother. She married her father when she was 12, but they had been dating six years before that, and had dated before in high school. Josie dislikes Aimee because she sees her as her father's first mistake. They have a much better relationship now, but they're still at odds (Aimee wants to help Josie be a beauty queen, Josie isn't interested).
Siblings.
Calypso Garcia - Josie struggled to adjust to not being the only child anymore. Calypso and Josie fight a lot, and they don't necessarily see eye-to-eye, but Calypso really cares for Josie. He's super protective of her, and wants her to be happy, and vice versa. Calypso is immensely opposed to his friends dating Josie (mainly Miguel), because he wants to keep her safe.
Gonzalo Garcia - Josie's younger stepbrother. Zalo is nonverbal, most of the time, so he and Josie get along pretty well. They're about three years apart in age.
Immediate relatives.
Frances and Michael Blanc - maternal grandparents. They're very rude to her father for isolating Josie from her mother, yet they don't treat Josie any better.
Brief family history.
Edward grew up in a state home. His mother had abandoned him in a garbage can and he had no known relatives. He worked incredibly hard growing up in Hell, and was a very well-liked guy.
Mina was born to Frances and Michael, and wasn't ready to settle down ever. However, after sleeping with Edward and getting pregnant, her parents convinced Edward to propose. Mina accepted, but aborted the baby herself, claiming a miscarriage, The wedding happened anyway, because Mina knew Edward made plenty of money.
After Josie was born and Mina was discovered to be hurting her, Edward divorced her and they went back to Hell, where he was from. He met Aimee and they began to date, later on getting married.
Relationships.
Saoirse Maguire - best friend. Saoirse is her better half, sometimes. She's the one who tries to help keep Josie grounded and keep her safe and from overreacting.
Miguel Trinidad - eventual boyfriend. Josie, at first, rejects him. However, she falls for his efforts and sometimes (after way too much tequila), would flirt with him. He eventually gets to ask her out and she accepts.
